Jean Stampe and 'his' King Albert I. (coll. Stampe and Vertongen Museum)
“Who is Who”
The protagonists in the Stampe en Vertongen story were the war comrades Jean Stampe and Maurice Vertongen, supported by King Albert I who was very interested in the company and the flying school.
After the departure of engineer Renard, George Ivanow was recruited.
After returning to civilian life and with a military pilot's license in his pocket, Leon Stampe joined his father's company and started working as a test pilot.
